The Story Behind JokeJar

It started with Uncle Randy.

Randy has a joke for everything. Bad ones, good ones, ones you've heard a hundred times and somehow still laugh at. The kind of jokes that define a person — that you'll quote at Thanksgiving twenty years from now.

We built JokeJar so his family could save them. A simple link, a record button, and suddenly every joke Randy ever told was preserved — transcribed, tagged, shareable. Something that would outlast any group chat thread.

But it wasn't just for Randy.

Families started asking for their own jar. A grandpa in Ohio. A dad who only speaks in puns. A mom who insists her jokes are better than everyone else's (she's right). People who wanted to bottle up the humor that makes their family theirs — before time has a chance to blur the details.
